About Mandy

Mandy and her family have been fortunate to have many dogs throughout the years. They are her inspiration to learn as much as she can about dog behavior and proper training. Mandy started out wanting to understand her dogs better. She learned solutions to their behavior issues to help them become healthy members of her family. She spent the next few years studying and implementing successful training sessions with them.

Mandy is one of less than 200 Certified Dog Behavior Consultants (CDBC) worldwide through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). She is also a professional level member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the Pet Professional Guild, The Association for Fear-Free Pet Professionals. Mandy also has certifications as a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI) and Certified Canine Fitness Coach (CCFC).

While fostering dogs for a local rescue, Mandy was shocked to learn how many dogs were returned. Most are due to behavior issues that are easily trainable such as urinating inside, jumping on people or whining. Approximately 1.3 million dogs are surrendered to shelters by their owners yearly. Unable to care for these animals, shelters euthanize those deemed not adoptable.

Unfortunately, most owners do not have the time or knowledge to train their dogs. This is how Paws for Life was born. Our goal is to keep as many dogs as possible out of shelters and in knowledgeable and loving homes. We want to help dogs become the best they can be to benefit the lives of both dog and family.
